Can Reth interfaces pass normal traffic -- Urgent pls help

Hello,

 

I am a newbie in SRX and I am configuring SRX for high availability. I am doing a deployment where the SRX has a Reth0 to the M7i Router and a Reth1 link to the EX4200 Switch.

 

I have attached a diagram. The blue links are Reth links and the green links are data traffic.

 

I dont want the Reth links to send any data traffic but be just used for monitoring health of the firewall. Is this something possible.

 

I have already read the high availability design guide also attached. It doesnt say anything about the reth cables only send health messages.
