I have several SRX-240's, and would like to download new junos software directly to the devices instead of downloading it from the https site, then uploading to my internal ftp server, THEN finally getting it to the SRX.
1.) Some SRX's are remote and I don't have an ftp server they can access. Sure I can build one, make it work somehow, but...
2.) The "Upload Package" from the J-Web interface doesn't work. I sniffed the process and after a few seconds I get a bunch of tcp zero window errors in the sniffer, but J-Web just hangs - no messages. Tried the "Install Package", but it doesn't support https.

I don't believe this is possible. You can however skip the FTP server and upload the firmware image to the /var/tmp folder for installation though.

I had this same problem and was able to get around it by enabling http and using that for the upload.
