  • 1.  Fast path processing - NAT?

    Just trying to fully understand this diagram:

    I understand the order of operation for new sessions. They make good sense.

    But why is NAT a part of the fast path processing? I mean if the traffic is part of the existing session, why would you want to and how could you even NAT the traffic (again)?

     

    Or does it just imply that reverse traffic is assigned their pre-nat addresses from the existing incomming sessions before being routed back?

    The  NAT  lookup in the Fast path is used for ALG .
