    Hi,

I'm setting up a SRX650-chassis-cluster. For the fxp0-interface I wanted to have an IP, that is not routed on the srx itself to have an independent possibility to get on the box. How can I define a gateway for this interface? To get an idea what I'm planning, I've attached a little drawing...

    OK,

I have found the answer myself. There is a theoretical possibility by creating a virtual-router. The problem is, you can't move fxp0 to this as it has to reside in inet.0. So you could move your other interfaces to the new virtual-router. Problem with this is when you are using VPN.... VPN has to be terminated at inet.0.

The solution for will be a seperate management server, that is directly connected to the srx boxes. At least I will have a direct serial console to one of the srx.

VPNs can be terminated in virtual routers now starting with Junos 11.1 and newer.
