    Hello all,

     

    I've got a question about HA: do switches attached to a active/passive cluster of two SRX-240's need the STP protocol enabled? Or can a basic layer 2 switch be used?

    Hi

     

    It depends on your topology. I assume you are speaking about L3 cluster, in
    this case SRX will not pass an L2 frame from one port to another. So take
    your topology, ignoring SRX, and see if L2 loop is possible in it. If
    it is, you need STP. Othersise, no. In simplest cases, you can do with
    unmanagable swithces and no STP.
