    Hello,

    I have to save the log in usb directly . can it be possible to save the log directly in USB?

     

    Please help for this

    you cannot redirect local logging.  This will happen to the var/log directory.

     

    You could do a snapshot for the system to USB and boot to the USB media.  Then all the logging will happen in var/log on the USB drive but the system will be running from there as well.

    We would not suggest to change the default logging location and there is no direct way to get it done. You can backup the content of /var/log to any location as below,

     

     file archive compress source /var/log/* destination /var/tmp/re-0-var-log.tgz
