Hi All,

 

 

When i look in this url http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB17946&actp=search   it's look like ISSU support all services. May i know whether someone in here have try ISSU without any downtime / traffic impact? Even ATAC advise not use ISSU if can.

Using ISSU we can upgrade without any downtime . But it depends upon from which version to which version you are upgrading

 

Till 12.1X44 we have some limitation , but upgrading from 12.1X46 and above does not have any limitations and personally have done multiple upgrades without any issues . But make sure the cluster is in good health .

 

From 11.4 if you need to upgrade , its not much recommended since we have seen multiple issue .  But from 12.1X46 it works fine.

Thanks for your feedback. My junos version was 15.x. and cluster setup active passive. So it should be no issue right?

Yes it should not create any issue . But make sure the cluster is healthy and all the status is fine .  If possible logs all the consol session .

I'm already simulate the ISSU on SRX220 on my lab and it's still have downtime. The uplink i'm using VRRP. So i'm not sure the downtime due to VRRP failover or other thing. But the reality it's still have downtime.

Actually not tested with VRRP , hopefully it may be due to the same , since VRRP is used for intra chassis redundancy and ISSU upgrade downtime is based in inter chassis . So may be if you have intra chassis redundant link it may cause some downtime.
