I just took a quick look at 10.0 which was released today. The apply function is added to the gui. Realy a big improvement!

Re: JUNOS 10.0

What is the best way of loading Junos 10 to the SRX? I usually go through the web interface but it seems to be taking forever

Re: JUNOS 10.0

I use the 3cdaemon ftp server on my laptop and then upgrade with "request system software add ftp://anonymous:nosense@<ip_pc>/image_name no-validate" Updating take a few minutes, mostly because of a rather slow FTP server I think. But then again: one of my motto's "Real man don't click" :smileywink:

Greetz,

Re: JUNOS 10.0

Screenie,

Another interesting change is the addition of a new subset of documentation in Junos 10.0.  The WLAN Configuration and Administration Guide.  They mention the Juniper AX411 Series WLAN Access Points that are centrally managed by the SRX Series devices.  It will be interesting to see how this vets out.

Re: JUNOS 10.0

I get these error messages when I try to install

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: +CONTENTS: Not found in archive
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
ERROR: Not a valid package /var/tmp/junos-10.0R1.8

any ideas?

Re: JUNOS 10.0

Hi Shadow, You're absolutly right, very interesting. Every SRX allready has POE ports, IDP possibility, URL filter, and now wireless. Everything you need for a branch-office in one device. And more to come. I choose my nichname because I like ScreenOS a lot. Might need to change it soon... :smileysad:

Re: JUNOS 10.0

Which (specific) binary and on which box? I think you maybe grabbed the install media vs the install package.

Thx

Re: JUNOS 10.0

when upgrading I just put the new package file on my laptop (Mac OS X), start Apache HTTPD and then do a:

root> request system software add no-validate unlink reboot http://lap.top.ip.address/junos-srxsme-10.0R1.8-domestic.tgz

That downloads the file and installs :-)
