Couldn't find the infromation anywhere, can I also install only one SRX 100 unit to rack using the rack mount kit SRX-100-RMK? Other option is just to get a shelf, but I'd rather have it done properly.

    "SRX100 19" rack-mount kit. Holds two units."

    Thanks

Found an image here,  it looks like it will take one unit.

Based on the cost for the rack mount kits for the small Branch SRX, I would just use a self... seriously look at the cost of the kit as a % of the cost of the SRX 100, it is ridiculous.

Hi, Yes you can deploy just one device in the rack mount kit. Each device is affixed by four screws along one edge Its neater than a shelf IMHO Rgds

Place the SRX on a switch and use that money to upgrade to 1GB/1GB! My 2c.

I don't know the part number, but the RMKs we have are a 1RU shelf that takes a pair of SRX-100 with their power-supplies/plug-packs behind the SRXes. This makes for a clean 1RU clustered pair or cold standby.

The image in that link isn't correct.

As noted, they provide a small "shelf" on the back of the unit to mount the power supply to, any yes it does make a nice, clean install for an HA pair.

Other suggestions - Cisco use to have a "mounting" magnet they used on ths small PIX devices, almost like a mouse pad in size, then just "mount" it to a switch or anything else that has a metal chassis 🙂
