  • 1.  SRX 210H-POE (Status LED Amber Permanently )

    Hi All,

     

    My first post and a new user to Juniper 🙂

     

    I just got an SRX 210H-POE, the issue i have is no connectivity (status LED permanently on amber). I upgraded the firmware.

    Still no luck.

     

    From what i can see the Status LED is amber even after being on all night.

    I can find no information other than this means the system is booting,not after 12 hours 😉

    Some basic troubleshooting shows the chassis sub-system is not running, or any other services related to it.

    That would explain the lack of connectivity even after a factory reset (a million times)

     

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    I would suggest that you connect a serial cable to the console port and monitor the booting process.  It should report any errors. 

     

    You could also do a complete reinstall of Junos and format of the internal flash storage via the bootloader process.

     

    When you upgrade the firmware you should also check that the BIOS is upgraded.  Sometime it will not upgrade the bootloader.

    TFTP software load.  You may need to disable Windows firewall....even if you have allowed UDP 67-69
    .


    set netmask=255.255.255.0
    set ipaddr=192.168.253.77
    set gatewayip=192.168.253.254
    set serverip=192.168.253.220
    install tftp://192.168.253.220/junos-srxsme-12.1R3.5-domestic.tgz

    Cable has to be fe-0/0/0 or ge-0/0/0

     

    Install via USB port.

    install file:///junos-srxsme-12.1R3.5-domestic.tgz

    to optionally format the system use
    install tftp://192.168.253.220/junos-srxsme-12.1R3.5-domestic.tgz --format

    or
    install file:///junos-srxsme-12.1R3.5-domestic.tgz --format

    One more thing.  Sometimes you can get an amber error because you do not have any autorecovery config setup

     

    If you can access the CLI on the SRX you can try

     

    request system autorecovery state clear  

    This will clear the saved current settings, config and licences

     

    request system autorecovery state save

    This will save your current settings, config and licences

    Just got to test the options you had suggested, unfortunately no luck.

     

    I am at a loss with this, maybe it is a hardware fault. I would be pissed, $400 on ebay 😕

    Try

     

    show system alarm

     

    I'm willing to bet a donut its the rescue config not being saved

     

    request system configuration rescue save

     

    Note: the rescue config is seperate from the autorecovery mentioned earlier....

    Hi There,

     

    I had made sure the back up was completed before.

    I did check again, the system has no alarms.

     

    Just can not get the status light to stop being solid amber.

     

    There is no network avaliable, cannot ping, did software from USB.

     

    It always happens when you are just starting out on something new 😛

    depending on the software, there is a request system autorecovery state save command

    Hi John,

     

    I eventually stopped looking, got back on voice studies.

     

    I would love to get it going but seem to be at a dead end, any help would be most appreciated.

    I had the same problem. I performed the tftp upgrade and srx240 accused "error 60" them stops the process.

    Does anyone have this problem?

    This is in regards to Amber light

     

    1. request system storage cleanup

    2. request system reboot

     

    This should fix it.

     

    If not then reload the Junos code ( version 11.4R11.4 has been stable)

     

    Please mark this thread resolved if it solves your issues.
