  • 1.  SRX240 Active/Passive Redundancy Group Question

    Posted 09-28-2011 07:05

I have 2 SRX240s in a cluster and I utilize the UTM and IDP features.  Per all the base config documents, I have a "Routing-Group 0" and a "Routing-Group 1" (RG1 contains all the RETHs)

Because, with UTM and IDP, both RG0 and RG1 must be active on the same node at all times to route traffic (currently running 10.4R6).

Can I just eliminate RG1 all together and place all the RETHs into RG0?  I don't have an extra cluster to test this on.  I can test after hours, but wanted to possibly save a drive in.

Sorry - but RG0 is a dedicated, specific redudancy group just for the route engines. You need RG1 for your I/F's.

Is there any way to force RG1 to always follow RG0?  (interface monitoring is set to the same, but doesn't work in case of manual failover. and possibly other unforseen cases..)
