WARNING: SRX firmware 10.2 changes the model numbers!

FYI it seems that it is impossible to do a CLEAN firmware upgrade for any SRX being updated from a past release to the 10.2 releases... You have to delete the device and then import it new after the update.

The SRX model number reported by devices changes in this release

SRX100-lm becomes SRX100b

SRX210-hm becomes SRX210H

A hardware reconcile does not seem to repair this issue and leads to some strange possible problems in NSM.

Re: WARNING: SRX firmware 10.2 changes the model numbers!

Does this appear to be purely a NSM incompatibility?

Re: WARNING: SRX firmware 10.2 changes the model numbers!

Yes, the problem is on the NSM side but is specific to upgrading from a previous release to 10.2 on the SRX...

The first upgrade test I did the SRX became unmanagable because NSM kept trying to login and overwhelmed the login service on the SRX.

The second time NSM just refused to push updates due to a device mismatch because in some places it displayed the unit as SRX100-lm and others SRX100b.

Just something to watch out for if you have SRX units in production and are thinking of upgrading to 10.2 or higher....

not really sure I understand why they changed the model numbers in the first place, the new naming seems less descriptive or unnecessary.
