  • 1.  Where utm hierarchy is?

    Posted 05-12-2014 11:17

    Hi all,

I am trying to locate the "utm" hierarchy on my VSRX router. I thought that this was meant to be easier but I proved wrong.

At first I thought that the problem was that my physical device has only the licence for the 512MB DRAM. So being the low-memory, it cannot support UTM. That's fine, so I asked here at the forum and they told me to try the VSRX which has all the features out of the box. And so I did.

However, again, "UTM" hierarchy is missing. I just want to practice, that's all. What I have to do to achieve that? The only option is purchase a UTM licence? Being the high-memory device isn't enough?

    Regards,

    Evangelos

    Hi Evang

Yes you need UTM license installed to have UTM related features.

Unfortunately, on current available Junos versions don't have UTM support.
It will be added from Junos 12.1X47-D10

    To expand AVD's post:

    1. For physical appliance, you need to have UTM license for using UTM related features.

    2. In VSRX, you do not see UTM hierarchy becuase it is not avialable yet. Upcoming major release 12.1X47 will have UTM capability for which you have to wait for sometime.
