Why do i need estabilsh IPSEC Tunnel between two devices that have public IPs?? they can reach other via IP already.

    Hi team,

     

    This might sound "stupid" but its ringing my head. there is arequest to establish tunnel between to servers that both have public IPs and was just wondering why cant we use the Public IPs to use to access the servers? i can ping each server and login to each from either end.

    IPSec can be used to provide security (authentication, encryption, etc). Having the two servers communicate directly over the internet may not be safe, depending on what kind of traffic they need to exchange.
