  • 1.  /cf/var/log: write failed, filesystem is full

    Hi All,

     

    Does all of you have issue like this on SRX branch ? I installed SRX210 and manage by NSM2009.1r1. When added into NSM,  on SRX will have this configuration on syslog :

    file default-log-messages {

                any any;

                structured-data;

            }

     

    When i saw on /var/log , this file bigger and bigger. I try to create archive to 64K with 3 file, but that file still bigger even make minus on storage. Then appear this error " /cf/var/log: write failed, filesystem is full".

    How to solve this issue ?? Need assist on this.

    Hi ,

     

    I am facing this issue for two diffrent customers have srx650's (junos 9.6r1) with nsm2009.1 .  In my stiuation after "file  system full messages"" device is unreachable .

    Jtac srx team does not recommend to open syslog file with any any option and suggested open new case for NSM .  I have already 2 cases escalated to ATAC  and I am hoping  to answer my customers about that .

    you can limit the number of files and File size in order to avoid such issue, e.g.

     

    set system syslog file default-log-messages archive files 10 size 128000

    we already try that as NDcool mentioned .Rather than him We set 3 files and each one 10Meg.

    I suggest to customer upgrade 9.6R2.11 and waiting update from him (in the release notes there is no related topic but ATAC recommends it ) .



    In the meantime I am researching W/A ın order to see srx devices traffic logs in the NSM instead of using below lines in the srx.

    It seems junos software checking only one hour a time for for file archiving options . Case is escalated to engineering .

    Can anyone share the outcome of this?
    Is there a way to resolve the -ve sign issue?

    Pls assist.
