When you issue the command request system configuration rescue save on the primary node of the chassis cluster do you also have to perform this from the secondary node or does it automatically replicate the rescue file?

I issued the command on the primary node and the alarm went away but the secondary node still has an active alarm.

    Thanks,

    JR

You have to use that command on the other node as well. An easy way to switch to the secondary is using "request routing-engine login node <other node id>".

Can I ask what the procedure for initiating the rescue is? Is it necessary to press the config button on both nodes? Or does initiating it on either of the nodes cause the config to be updated on both?

    thanks Jason

    Hi kinsja,

you can enable the rescue configuration by using the command 'rollback rescue'. If your chassis cluster is still working, commiting the configuration will also copy the config to the second node.

Just take a look at this site: http://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB15788&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1317284737896#cli_config
