SRX

We are almost done configuring our SRX240H and now want to make sure that it is secure and can protect the network as intended. We have been instructed by the customer to test SRX to make sure that proper ports are closed and that it can sustain an attack.

What external tools/software/commands can you recommend to scan firewall for open ports and security holes externally to see if our firewall passes the basic security tests to the outside world? What basic security practices we should take into a consideration?

Please advise and recommend....

You can test various port scanning tools availible and test the security port holes in the devices . make sure you have security screen configured to check various IP address sweeps, port scans, denial of service (DOS) attacks, ICMP, UDP, and SYN floods

Can you be a little more specific? What port scanning tools are recommended? Can you list some names etc?
