  • 1.  mount SRX220H and SRX220H2 in cluster

    Hi dear,

    My customer has already a SRX220H and he'd like to get an other SRX220H2 to implement  High Availability.

    I'd like to to know if it is possible to mount these devices in cluster.

    Hello ,

     

    Juniper Does not recommend to cluster 2 device with diff hardware setup , like SRX220H and SRX220H2 , we may get unexpected results .

    For clustering we need exact same devices with same hardware setup .

    The bigger issue here than the memory difference will be that clustering requires that both devices run the SAME version of Junos.  And I believe the lowest version of Junos that ships with the H2 model is the first version of Junos that CANNOT be loaded on an H model device.

     

    I think that you will need to pick up an H model on the used market or purchase two new H2 models to get the clustering setup here.

    The new hardware versions can only go as low as the original shipping version of software.  I did a revert and check in my lab.  The shipping version for these SRX100H2 is 12.1X44-D35.5.

     

    If you can get the same version onto the H device as the H2 you will be able to form the cluster.  I have done this in the lab with B and H versions in the past for configuration testing.

     

    But as mentioned above, you will NOT be able to get support on JTAC tickets for this type of configuration.
