I have a clustered pair of SRX-240's running 9.6r1.13 and am having no luck tracking down the following syslog message:
Node-0-FW pfe_get_ifl_stats failed
I have the custer managed via NSMXpress and am using MRTG to report network stats. Is it likely that I'm trying to poll a mib leaf that doesn't exist or is not readable?
Also, is there a definitive list of error messages?
thanks.

Hi,
I cannot tell you for sure what this message exactly means but PFE stands for Packet Forwarding Engine and IFL stands for Logical Interface. So I would guess you propably poll logical interface (like ge-0/0/0.100) which does not exists. However, in my opinion this message should not appear in this case. Another possibility, device cannot (for whatever reason) extract some statistics from PFE.
Kind Regards

That's what I suspected, I guess I'll re-run the MRTG config and compare the old and new configurations and see if the interfaces on the SRX are the same.
I am still looking for a list of every syslog message possible.

Checking on why that structured syslog isn't documented. Here's the full list of documented messages

See http://kb.juniper.net/KB13894 However it should have been fixed in 9.6R1 if it's the same root cause. I would recommend opening a support case to verify.

Thanks for the pointer to the KB. I'm not sure why it didn't turn up in my searching.
Thanks.

Keith, I cannot get the KB search page to find this article!!!. When I search for pfe_get_ifl_stats I get nothing. What search term did you use to find it?
thanks again.
