AVG 8 Free Edition failing security check since updating ESAP to 1.4.0

I got it a couple of days ago because of a support ticket I had regarding Norton AV 2009.

It was supposed to be generally available today, however. Perhaps they just haven't updated the site?

Yes and no.

It appears to pass Host Checker for XP users, but not for Vista users, from the tests I've had my users run.

And there is still a known issue with it passing the firewall check.

Just an fyi, I've upgraded to ESAP 1.4.7 and AVG 8.0 (free) users are still not able to get past the endpoint security.

Are you sure they are using AVG 8.0? I am also using ESAP 1.4.7 and I've found that the recent AVG update to 8.5 does not pass Host Checker, but 8.0 still does.

I like AVG, but it's becoming too much of a hassle to use with the Juniper VPN. Can anyone recommend a good free alternative that doesn't have problems with the Juniper VPN?

Yes, I should have used 8.x. Because one person did upgrade to 8.5, but the other two said they were using 8.0. I only confirmed the user using 8.5. I have heard other people mention Avast (free edition) as an alternative. I have not personally used it.
