AVG Free 8.x NOT working EASP 1.3.7

With the upcoming demise of AVG Free 7.x I am trying to enable AVG Free 8.x.  To this end I have downloaded and enabled the latest EASP 1.3.7 on which AVG Antivirus Free 8.x is listed as supported, but Host checker fails.

Anyone have any ideas?

You're not alone on this one.  I've had an open support case with Juniper for 6 months now, with Norton AV 15.x also not being supported on each of the most recent ESAP files.   And in 1.3.7 we noticed that AVG 8.x was now no longer working.

I'm afraid I can't yet offer a solution, but will post if we manage to fix it.

Same problem here

This is really frustrating as most our remote users (students) use AVG 7.x and are now upgrading to 8 but the host checker won't detect it.

Fingers crossed for a new patch to fix this!  In the meantime I am advising everyone to change their AV to Avast free edition.

It looks like upgrading to 6.1 R2 fixes this problem, both for AVG 8.x, and Norton 2008.  We're gone live with it now, after testing it briefly.  So far, so good...
