Can anyone explain the active sync? Can I use it without installing the client software (junos pulse etc) on mobile clients? How I can configure Active Sync on SSL VPN device and on iphone?

Re: Active Sync

Depending on the backend resource you may or may not  need any clients and brower should be more than enough..

eg if the backend application is web application/file server you dont need any clients and browser which supports SSL should be more than enough.

If you would like to know more about please refer the Content Intermediation Engine Best Practices Guide under the following link which has a very detailed description of what is supported through core access(web applications) .

Re: Active Sync

ActiveSync is available only for mobile clients; you can get mail through the rewriter as explined by viji; however, in order to use a client  software, eg outlook, you will need to run a client software such as pulse.
