MAG licensing??

Does anyone understand the MAG licensing structure?

Despite having spent time looking at the pricelist, data sheets, and courseware, I haven't seen a decent explanation for the following questions:

1) Why are some licenses perpetual and some annual?

Example: ACCESSX600-ADD-100U vs ACCESS-100U-3YR

2) If you want to run a MAG as an IC, is the only license necessary MAGX600-Guest-Access or do you need something else as well?

3) Is there a document anywhere that explains the licensing?

4) Can someone on the product team get together and simplify the licensing?

Thanks...

Re: MAG licensing??

1) Why are some licenses perpetual and some annual?

>>>z: Your choice as a customer on how you want to license your units. If you plan on using the same hardware for a long time, the perpetual license is a good choice. If you may be changing your hardware frequently OR are using the virtual SA appliance, the annual option may be a better option for you.

Some items, such as EES and premiere applet are subscription/annual, due to license agreements with the respective companies; your account team may have more information on this.

Example: ACCESSX600-ADD-100U vs ACCESS-100U-3YR

2) If you want to run a MAG as an IC, is the only license necessary MAGX600-Guest-Access or do you need something else as well?

 >>>z: It will allow simple L2 access for ~200 users; for full IC functionality and more than 200 users, you need an add user license.

3) Is there a document anywhere that explains the licensing?

 >>>z: beyond what it sounds like you have found, I don't believe so.

4) Can someone on the product team get together and simplify the licensing?

>>>z: from what i have been told about it, this is simpler; but I also see what you mean. your best bet would be to work with your account team.
