snmp trap for HC events

hi all,

 

as part of my security policy i need to get snmp traps when users fail upon failing the HC policies

has anyone done this ?

I don't think you will be able to get the IVE to generate traps for these as it is not one of the defined traps in the MIB.  You can enable traps for major or critical log entries but the failed Host Checks are logged at the Info level.

It is not possible for the IVE to do this, as mentioned by MattS, but if you send the logs to a syslog server that has this capability to send a trap based on certain data, you could do that through the syslog server.
