This is a legacy community with limited Juniper monitoring.

  • 1.  5GT Firmware upgrade

    I recently found a Netscreen 5GT getting dusty in the server room.

     

    After setting up it seemded it was running the  5.2.0r1.0 (Firewall+VPN) firmware.

     

    Now i saw there is a 6.2 and 5.4 firmware.

     

    I have been looking trough the releasenotes for some time but i can't really decide which would be best.

    Does anyone have had some experience with one of these 2 firmwares on a 5GT ?

     

    I'm open for all suggestions & tips Smiley Very Happy

    6.2 is a bit heavy on the memory, but as long as you don't need any utm i'd use that one.

    Hi Cookiiezzz

     

    so far i just follow jtac general recommendation screen OS. for ns-5gt jtac recommend to user 5.4 latest release. actually so far for me 5.4 quite stable for ns-5gt, but if you urgently specific feature which is supported only on 6.2 release you can upgrade to 6.2 but what previous poster said that 6.2 a bit heavy in memory.

    There is no urgent need for features that are in 6.2, so i guess i'll upgrade to the 5.4 latest release as said 🙂
