Adding Secondary IP Range Issue

All,

I'm experiencing an issue adding a secondary routed IP range from a T1 provider.  I've accomplished this numerous times before with additional IPs in the primary range, by utilizing a MIP etc.  In this instance, I've added one of the available secondary IPs from the new range, played with various netmasks, confirmed ICMP is enabled, etc., to no avail.

A brief outline:

T1 Router:

WAN:  216.28.186.208/30

Range1:  216.197.63.16/29

Range2:  206.246.197.204/30

I've attempted to MIP 206.246.197.205 or 206 through, and I've played with various destination routing, with no luck.  Thanks.

Re: Adding Secondary IP Range Issue

Anyone?  I've searched and found a few examples mentioning that enabling the MIP & Policy is all that's required, however, I'm unable to implement that successfully...

Re: Adding Secondary IP Range Issue

A MIP and a policy permitting traffic to that MIP should be sufficient.

In the config file, I see you enabled destination NAT on the policy, thats not needed. The MIP already handles the address translation. So try removing that first.

If traffic still isn't getting through, try setting up debug logging to verify if traffic is actually reaching your firewall. It could just be a misconfiguration by the ISP.

> set ff dst-ip 206.248.197.205

> cl db

> debug flow basic

Now send some traffic to 206.248.197.205

> undebug all

> get db str

The debug output should show you at least if the traffic is reaching your firewall, and if so, whats happening to it.
