Is there anyway to get the backspace key to work in ScreenOS (6.0.0r1) CLI ?  It's not the end of the world, but it is driving me nuts!

    thanks!

    Hi,

What are you using (e.g. Hyper Terminal, SecureCRT, etc)?  Try CTRL-H.

    John,

I'm just using openssh command line.  Ctrl-H does work, so it looks like its a terminal setting issue someplace.

    Hi Jfhuff,

yes that was your terminal setting issue, or can try with Ctrl+Backspace also.

Delete Characters Delete the character before the

    cursor.

    Delete or Backspace

Delete the character at the cursor.

    Ctrl+d

Delete all characters from the cursor to the end of the command line.

    Ctrl+k

Delete all characters on the command line.

    Ctrl+u or Ctrl+x

Delete the word before the cursor.

    Ctrl+w, Esc+Backspace, Alt+Delete, or Alt+Backspace

Delete the word after the cursor.

    Esc+d or Alt+d

    Thanks for the replies!

Ctrl-H works fine, but I still can't get plain backspace to work. Delete just prints a '~'.

    Arrow keys also work fine.

This seems to be a terminal emulation problem.  My Cisco and HP switches act fine, so something is different about ScreenOS.

    Anyway, I'll survive:)

    thanks again

This is old, but for what it's worth in Mac OS X Terminal, you can check "Delete sends ctrl-H" in Terminal Settings.  This fixes the issue in Mac OS X client/server -> ScreenOS.
