    Hi,

I am new to juniper firewalls.

I have recently bought a SSG5 and have it setup behind an ISP router.

The ISP router cannot be removed because the ISP will only provide internet connection to a specific mac address.

         WAN ------ ISP Router ------ SSG5 ----- Client (Windows 7)

The problem is that I cannot access to any web page from the browser.

I can access the web ui of the SSG5 and ISP router.

I can ping 72.30.38.140 (which goes to Yahoo!) from the client command prompt.

However, I cannot ping yahoo.com from the client.

Moreover, my Skype is running and I have confirmed that I can chat with my friends online.

I have attached the config for the details of the setup of the SSG.

    Please help me.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

Looks like your DHCP configuration doesnt offer clients any dns servers. Go edit DHCP server settings for your LAN interface (bgroup0). If you dont know your ISP's DNS server you can always use Googles: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

    Thank you! It worked.

I have inserted the ISP DNS server in the setup and enabled DNS proxy in group0.

And setup the settings for the client.

Okay, I did not know what DHCP was, and I setup my DHCP settings on the router.

Now IP address and DNS IP is automatically given to the client.

    Thank you very much!
