I am short of a dedicated physical port for HA link. Since i am using all 4 interfaces for data traffic

Would i be able to do a HA link without the use of a physical cross cable?

No, HA is working on L2, So Physical HA link is mandatory for High Availablity.

You need one physical interface atleast to send control messages and sync RTO/configurations.

Ive read thru NetScreen OS manual, there seem to be a paragragh about HA Virtual Interface, that does not make use of the physical interface. Was wondering if anyone comes across HA Virtual Interface.
