This is a legacy community with limited Juniper monitoring.

    I am new to juniper firewalls. I have some questions regarding HA concept in JUNIPER SCREENOS ?


    My question is "does the HA exists b/w interfaces or zones " ?

    My 2nd question is "does the interfaces in HA always need to be L3 or it can be L2 " ?

    My 3rd question is does the above concept works in JunOS SRX firewall also, or the HA concept is different in them ?

    For NSRP the basic configuration is identical hardware with interface to interface failover.  You can have this in either a normal L3 mode or with the devices in "transparent mode" for L2.  But you can't mix the two.

     

    Have a walk through kb9809.  This shows you the basic choices in configuration and points to the details on each step along the way.
