  • 1.  How to telnet from specific interface

    Posted 03-14-2012 00:47

    Hi

    On our ISG-1000 we need to make a telnetfrom the CLI through a specific interface.. we have tried this .. telnet <IP> port <PORT_NUMBER> interface <INTERFACE_NAME> .. but it returns a "unknown keyword INTERFACE" .

    Can someone help on how to state the correct command?

    Best Regards

    Stig

    Firewall(M)-> telnet 1.2.3.4 ?
    <return>
    port                 Host port number
    src-interface        Source interface

     You should try "src-interface" instead of "interface"

    Unfortunately, it's not possible, but many times I wish I could do this.

    ScreenOS uses the IP of the interface closest to the destination.

    Hi ed_gpc,

    The above mentioned solution always works. If you specify source interface in telnet command then firewall will use that one as the source.

    If it's not working for you, could you please let me know the Screen OS version and the platform where you are trying this.

    Thanks

    Sarab
