Problem in Upgradin Screen OS

Hi,

       We have a Netscreen 50 firewall running with Screen OS 4.0.1r.9.0. I am trying to upgrade the screen os to

5.0.0r10d.0  through WebUI, i am getting the following error msg.

'The Uploaded file cannot be recognized as a valid software image file'

Anyone please help me?

          I am facing a serious problem with Netscreen 50 . I tried to upgrade the Netscreen OS through TFTP Server , i am getting the following msg

How can i proceed with this now, it is not accepting the new OS . Even I cant able to revert back to previous version also.I tried restart the device couple of times , the same screen is appearing again. Please any body help me, now everything get stuck in our office.

Hi,

Have you tried downloading the software again to make sure that its not corupt. What are you using to extract the file before uploading it?

Have you tried a different version?

When you say it wont let you roll back, are you using tftp to try and load on the old code?

Hi Abdul

This error: The Uploaded file cannot be recognized as a valid software image file' 

means ur image is corrupted or u are loading the os with unzip it. Firt unzip the os and then upload that file it should have type zero extension.

Try upgrading to 5.0.0r1 first.  Between 4.0.1 and 5.0.0, it did require the file system to be modified, and it may have a problem going up to r10.  Try r1 first, and see if you have any better luck.  Once you are on 5.0.0r1, at least you are on the same branch of OS code.

Yes u r correct, it was corrupted. I downloaded again and try to upload, it works.
