  • 1.  SSG-350M cannot boot

    Hello All,

     

    Just wondering if any of you have ever experienced a stuck SSG-300M series firewall.  Mine is an SSG-350M and suddenly after a power failure it won't boot at all (stuck). Power LED is ON, but restarting the device will not make it boot, status and other LEDs including ethernet LEDs remain off.  It's a 3 years old machine, its twin (another SSG-350M of same age) is fine.

     

    I tried connecting the Console port, but got nothing.  Restarting etc won't send anything to the console.  Console to the healthy twin gives me proper console access.

     

    Could this be RAM issue since RAMs are more likely to die sooner than any other parts on 24/7 machines?

     

    Any help would be highly appreciated!

    Your best bet would probably be to contact JTAC.  Hopefully you have support on the device.

    two things I have hear, RAM is bad or CF, I have a J2350 in the same boat, running fine did a reboto and it would nto come back up....no warrenty as itwas lab equipment so looking for answers..if you find on please let me knwo what your fix was.

    Yep, it was dead RAM issue. 🙂
