When I connect the console I get the following :

What can I do ?

Hello,

Have TFTP server with latest SSG5 OS directly connected to lowest port on SSG5.

Reboot the device and when prompted 'Hit any key to run loader' enter any key and follow the below KB article:

And check if it works. If it does not work, try same procedure but instead of ScreenOS firmware, upgrade the bootloader as given in the link below:

I will try this on friday , before I will not have time.

So I put the Screen OS on the TFTP server .

TFTP server connecting to the lowest port ? you mean 0/2 ?

If it does not work , I have to update bootloader ?

Then I have also a 2nd SSG-5 with problems :

There was some version 5.4.0r1 (I think) on it.

I tried to upgrade to 6.3.0r14b

Now it loops all the time in startup/boot.

Do I have to try the same here ?

(I read everywhere stories of DHCP on , that causes the problem)

anyway , I try first , the 1st one ,

then I will see for the 2nd

I updated already a lot of SSG-5 , never had probs , but on all of them DHCP was OFF.

NOw these 2 , DHCP was on.

Do I have to do something for this DHCP ?

Hi,

This does not look like the DHCP issue. DHCP problem will cause a reboot/crash loop. But in your case, the device is stuck during bootup.

Please try reinstalling the firmware and bootloader as Rushi suggested. If that does not help, most probably this is a hardware issue.

@mr Gokul : I meant my 2nd Juniper : it is in a loop , but I try to fix first my 1st Juniper.

So on this first one :

I followed both documents :

Upgraded bootloader,

load Screen Os :

but on loading screen OS I get the following :

So after the 'loaded succesfully!" message , I do not get the 'Ignore image authentication' nor the 'Program to on-board flash ?' messages

I retried to put another SCREEN OS on it.

that was succesful ,

but when I boot the SSG5 it still stops like before .

Is there something else I could do ?
