  • 1.  SSG 5 increase DHCP Range to more than 255 Adresses + Mac Filtering by Vendor

    Hello Forum,

a question from a newbie which haven´t been coverd by search or by google 🙂

We run a SSG 5 device to provide a free WIFI network at company site.

It´s flashed with up to date 6.3 R17 Firmware and was reset to factory defaults before.

Is it possible to configure the internal DHCP Server to:

    a) Provide more than 255 IP adresses? - We have set the internal network device to /22 Network but in DHCP Option it only allows 255 client adresses...

    b) Put a Mac Filter on it to kick out like Android/iPhone/iPad in General Smartphone devices looking for the Vendor Part of the Mac Adress? - Maybe with the Custom Options Function within the DHCP Server Configuration Part.

Any help for these 2 topics would be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Oliver

There are system maximums for the dhcp scope and they cannot be changed.  So the 255 is the limit of the SSG5.

The wireless mac filters are only by the full address, so you could not use wildcards for access.
