    Is it possible to drop traffic based on file extension on ScreenOS?

    If you have the UTM module you have some options depending on what you are trying to accomplish. You could write custom IDP checks, use the A/V module for virus checking on extensions and other things.

    i think what you are trying to do is called    "content filtering "

    you can do it at the Srx ,  i think  it is  not applicable at screen os
