This is a legacy community with limited Juniper monitoring.

  • 1.  The VPN tunnels up and down continuously

    Hi All,

     

    The scenario is:

    I'm using SSG5 Juno 6

    I had one LAN to LAN VPN route based tunnel.1 to remote site.

    Recently I had added additional LAN to LAN VPN route based tunnel.2 to second remote site.

    Since I defined the second VPN tunnel.2 the first tunnel.1 started to get down continuously (before it worked fine and showed always up status)

     

    In addition the VPN tunnel.2 getting down time to time as well.

     

    What might be a problem with it.

    I wen through troublshooting but still can't resolve the issue.

    Hello,

     

    + How frequently is the tunnel flapping ?

    + Could you please try disabling VPN monitor and then keep a continuos ping running for the remote site and then see if you get any losses in this ping. This will confirm if the issue is with VPN or just VPN monitor.

    + If possible could you please share the VPN config with us.

    Hi,

    Do you have a tunnel assigned to an interface or a tunnel with different IP?

    Hi,

     

    The tunnels assigned to interface 0/0.

    I've disbale the monitoring of one of the VPN it solved the issue.

    However I have another issue with one ping direction on second tunnel, but I've opened another topic for that discussion.
