    Hi all,

    I have a SSG-5-SH firewall.

After I upgraded its ScreenOS, the device occurred some issues like the text file I attatched.

Only I did was uploading ; imagekey, bootloader, ScreenOS(6.3.0r19.0)

All of them was downloaded from juniper.net in SSG-5-SH part.

Do you know what is the reason..?

From the information it looks like you have a boot loop issue after the install.

Try using the TFTP installation instructions to perform the upgrade.

If this also fails, try to use these same instructions to rollback to the previous version you had on the device.

I already installed it from TFTP server.

but, as you mentioned, how can I rollback to previous version..?

I couldn't enter the CLI mode.

Only thing I did was just typing like this.

    Serial Number [0052062002000203]: READ ONLY
HW Version Number [1010]: READ ONLY
Self MAC Address [0010-db20-4e80]: READ ONLY
    Boot File Name [ns5xt.5.0.0r8.0]: ns5xt.5.0.0r9.0
    Self IP Address [10.100.31.178]: 172.19.50.254
    TFTP IP Address [10.100.31.176]: 172.19.50.129

I could see upper sentence continuously.. continuously.

How did the device Serial Number [0052062002000203]: READ ONLY
HW Version Number [1010]: READ ONLY
Self MAC Address [0010-db20-4e80]: READ ONLY
    Boot File Name [ns5xt.5.0.0r8.0]: ns5xt.5.0.0r9.0
    Self IP Address [10.100.31.178]: 172.19.50.254
    TFTP IP Address [10.100.31.176]: 172.19.50.129

This is the correct screens to perform the upgrade at the boot loader from a TFTP server.

You need TFTP software installed on your computer and put the screenos file into the root directory

You should also be prompted for the name of that file in this sequence

For a rollback you need a copy of your original screenos file and then use this instead of the newly downloaded one during the upgrade process.

    Thank you spuluka

Yeah I used TFTP ( http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html ) this one, maybe you know this.

I indicated my ScreenOS on the root directory in TFTP software.

After that, I implemented my upgrading.

Anyway, as you mentioned, I already input previous version (6.3.0r17.0) through TFTP software.

but it also repeated loop situation.

I'm sorry you to hear this issue continuously.

But I really wondered why does this not implement!..

Are your supporting opinion is correct..?

    ..

    ㅠ_ㅠregards,

This TFTP method will be your only option from this boot process.

Confirm that you did unzip the screenos file and place the fully expanded version in the TFTP root directory.

Also try other TFTP utilities, I had this process fail when I used pumkin TFTP but work with the free Solarwinds TFTP utility.

There is a possibility that the flash drive has bad sectors and this is why the install is failing.  But this part is on the mother board and not replaceable in the field.
