Re: Windows AD and SSG firewall

What function are you trying to authenticate against? Dial-UP VPN, web-auth access, admin access? Are you trying to use LDAP or use Radius against the Windows domain through IAS?

Re: Windows AD and SSG firewall

Hi,

Hmm... something like web auth access.

for example User come to my company network they need to get the authorization from the Microsoft AD then only they able access the network resources or go to internet.

i already setup the radius server (IAS) but still unsuccessful.

thks

Re: Windows AD and SSG firewall

Make sure your shared secret correct on both sides. Check your Windows event log on your AD server it normally tells you what the error might be.

Re: Windows AD and SSG firewall

1- Define your server

2- To use it for web auth you need to change the web auth server settings from local to the server you defined.

3- On the appropriate ingess interface define a web-auth IP address - this must be different that the ip address of the I/F

4- Setup a policy from zone "x" to zone "y" - under advanced you specify authentication and then web auth.

I can post cli config but those are the steps. Works just fine.

Re: Windows AD and SSG firewall

Are you sure on this: set auth-server "ldap1" ldap dn "CN=test01,CN=Users,DC=abc,DC=com"

Try creating user in CN=Users in AD

then open user-id properties -> attributes and you would find his CN

keep that in auth server and check whether that user is working or not.

Amol

Re: Windows AD and SSG firewall

When you say it fails to work - that is pretty open ended. Looking at your config you have defined your radius server and you have made it your web-auth server - that looks good. You also have a policy defined that calls for webauth to be used and you assigned a webauth to your interface.

So - the user should bring up a browser and hit that IP address. They should then see a login screen that prompts them for user ID and password. and then they should either get authenticated or fail.

Where is the failure occuring? Are they getting the login screen and then not getting authenticated? If so have you looked in your AD server event log? Under system you will (using standard Windows log settings) always see an event for any IAS radius based login attempts. You will see this whether it is successful or not. Have you checked the log? If so what does it say? Common problems include mismtached radius policy - incorrect Authentication Type......
