Can you give us the syntax of the entire ping command you entered?
Can you show us the output of 'get int eth3/1.62:1'?
Can you show us the output of 'get route ip x.x.x.x', where x.x.x.x is the IP you were pinging?
Those should give us some clues.

I get this error if I attempt to ping from my backup cluster device. It works fine if I ping from the master node instead.

have you solved your problem about "no source ip address for interface ethernet" error on your backup cluster device?
because I have the same problem.

On the backup firewall, i see this error if the interface does not have a manage-ip configured.
if my eth0/1 has ip address 188.8.131.52/24, then.
on master firewall, set interface eth0/1 manage-ip 184.108.40.206
on backup firewall, set interface eth0/1 manage-ip 220.127.116.11
This is the behavior i see from some quick tests on 6.3.0r12.
