There’s a new malware in town—and it’s name is Morcut/Crisis.
A Trojan virus, Morcut arrives via a file named “AdobeFlashPlayer.jar” and opens up a backdoor component on the infected user’s system. It can record Skype conversations, capture traffic from instant messaging programs, and track websites visited in Firefox or Safari. And while it’s primarily been seen to target and install on Mac and Windows computers, the latest news is that Morcut may be the first of its malware kind to attempt to spread specifically to virtual machines (VMs).Read more...
