Welcome to "The New Network"

There’s no finer place to be in the fall than New York City, especially when the leaves are falling and, even though they lost last night, the Yankees are playing in the World Series (forgive me, I am from New Jersey.)

So what better place for Juniper to pay your respects to the Old Network (have you had a chance say good-bye at the Bowling Green subway stop on Broadway?) and give a big hello to the New Network?

By now, I hope you’ve seen the multitude of news unveiled today as part of the next step in Juniper Networks’ journey and the New Network that will enhance all of our lives.

As I mentioned yesterday, on the Internet’s 40th anniversary later today, CEO Kevin Johnson, Founder and CTO Pradeep Sindhu and several of our executives will take the secret cloaking device off our launch of new software, silicon, systems and partnerships to build out our vision for the next decade – a future of networking that is open, scalable, simple, secure and automated to address the exploding scale of Internet services.

Additionally, we will showcase a new corporate brand identity and new ingredient brand for our Junos software platform.

As part of the launch, Juniper today introduced several new Junos-based products, solutions and partnerships that expand our reach and value for customers:

·        New Junos® software: An open cross-network software platform that allows customers to directly program multiple layers of their networks for rich user experiences, smart economics and fast time to market.

·        New silicon and systems: A new Junos One family of processors, including the Junos Trio chipset with revolutionary 3D Scaling technology.

·        New solutions: Juniper unveiled new cloud networking and security solutions based on the Junos software platform and Juniper systems.

·        New MX 3D products : Juniper announced new networking systems with revolutionary 3D Scaling technology that helps networks scale dynamically to support more bandwidth, subscribers and services – all at the same time.

·        New partnerships: Juniper also announced and extension of our OEM relationship with IBM and our first-ever Junos software licensing partnership with Blade Network Technologies as well as other partnerships.

Last night, we celebrated the New Network with a gala celebration on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange – where as of this morning Juniper Networks is going to be traded.  That’s why this morning our management team is ringing the bell at NYSE to commemorate the occasion.

Today we’re also holding a Global Press and Analyst Meeting from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Kevin and Pradeep will join other Juniper executives to provide more details on our news and share our vision and strategic initiatives for the company.

The good news is that you don’t have to truck all the way to New York City to keep up with the news because we have the New Network – and know how to use it.  Just stay tuned to this blog, where we’ll provide links to video and audio simulcasts.  We’ll also host a threaded discussion about the news – so you can give us your opinion about it.

Twitter will also provide you information on the action.  You can follow me at @BPLewisJNPR or search on the hashtag #newnetwork to join in on the conversation.

Add your voice to the mix and check out our launch site.  We’re excited and we hope you are too.  Stay tuned because we’re just getting started!
