Juniper Networks, SDN and the Financial Analyst Day

Tuesday we kicked off our Financial Analyst Day here in Sunnyvale with a strong turnout from the investment and analyst community. We covered many topics including the buzzword du jour, SDN, and how this trend has always been an integral part of Juniper’s core business. Others have also covered their take on our position, you can read more here.

Totally agree that SDN is more applicabale to certain domains than others. Those domains/service-domains it applies more to will fall in the catogory where more control is centralized. Now if more control is centralized then there is less functionality required in network nodes in those domains. Less the functionality the simpler the network nodes are or should be. Hence, those domains would ideally be built with much simpler network nodes then what is currently available from the incumbants
