Yesterday Juniper launched the next generation of MX technology, enabling services providers to push innovation to the edge.
The MX, Juniper’s flagship platform with industry-leading 3D performance and scalability, puts a range of new software services in the edge of the service provider’s network.
Junos Content Encore – for the delivery of streaming video services across connection types and devices, enabling service providers to expand the range and reach of their premium content. LIME TV deployed Content Encore to add a VoD service to the broadband service – and added $64/month in ARPU.
Junos Web Aware – with awareness comes power – the power to monetize traffic based on user’s actions. With Web Aware, service providers can implement white lists/black lists for sites and sessions to deliver a range of services from parental controls to targeted advertising.
JunosV Firefly – a virtual firewall/security product (and clever name), JunosV Firefly can be used to implement a customized, hosted security service per subscriber – particularly for small/branch offices.
Network Optimization Services – agility is critical in today’s networks, and the MX brings unmatched flexibility to network optimization services like carrier grade NAT, load balancing, stateful firewalls, intrusion protection and more.
These represent a significant step towards more great new applications which will enable service providers to monetize and optimize their networks. Over the coming months, Juniper will continue innovate on the MX platform – and increasing the business value of the New Network.
Exploring the vision for the networking industry and the issues shaping its future.
