When I utter the name, I get back this quizzical look that says, “Brad, don’t you know this is a security product? Security solutions are guards, shields and sentinels not phosphorescent bugs. If you must stray from convention call it what it is, a firewall, an IPSec VPN gateway, a router, a virtual machine but for goodness sakes FireFly?”

Yesterday Juniper launched the next generation of MX technology, enabling services providers to push innovation to the edge.

The MX, Juniper’s flagship platform with industry-leading 3D performance and scalability, puts a range of new software services in the edge of the service provider’s network.

If you had to name the top 5 innovations that helped shape the world, what would they be? It’s hard to name just a few because there are so many inventions that improved lives everywhere. For me, telecommunications would be one of the key innovations. Why?
