Who would have thought that the old "branch network" environment that was dominated by a single vendor would change so much so quickly? The new world of mobile workers seems to pile new requirements onto old branch networks with rich media driving high-performance needs, explosions of single-purpose appliances driving complexity, out-of-control OS versions driving high costs, and excess network layers causing needless expense. Old products are driving the same old cost structures that seem so "2008" (ie outdated) these days. Read more...
