EXAM UPDATE - The exam supporting JNCIS-SEC is being updated

Effective December 17, 2010, there will be an updated version of the JN0-331 Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist – Security (JNCIS-SEC) exam. The new JN0-332 JNCIS-SEC exam will be available at the Prometric Testing Centers worldwide beginning December 17 and is the required exam to earn the JNCIS-SEC certification. The JN0-332 exam includes a question refresh and new context regarding the Unified Threat Management (UTM), including an introduction on UTM and information on anti-spam filtering, anti-virus protection, content filtering and web filtering.

For a two-week period, both exams will be available simultaneously. If you wish to take the JN0-331 version, be sure you take the exam before it is retired on December 31, 2010.

Re: EXAM UPDATE - The exam supporting JNCIS-SEC is being updated

Hi Liz

For the new JNCIS-SEC, one of the official course "Junos Unified Threat Management" has to be come in March 2011. How come we can prepare for this new exam without coming the official course in the market.

Thanks

Hi Aeroplane,

Until the course is released next year, you can use the tech pubs as a study resource.  Follow this link -http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos10.3/information-products/topic-collections/security/soft... and select Unified Thread Management from the links on the left.

Re: EXAM UPDATE - The exam supporting JNCIS-SEC is being updated

Hi

I have a JNCIA-EX which expires in August 2011. Can this be considred as Prerequisite Cert for JNCIS-SEC.?

I referred to following links :

This link doesnt show JNCIA-EX as a prerequisite

http://www.juniper.net/us/en/training/certification/es_track.html#jncises

However

This link does show it can be considered as prerequisite

http://www.juniper.net/us/en/training/certification/resources.html

Re: EXAM UPDATE - The exam supporting JNCIS-SEC is being updated

Hi Kashif,

The first link does indeed show JNCIA-EX as a pre-req:  "Prerequisite certification: JNCIA-Junos, or JNCIA-ER, JNCIS-ER, JNCIA-M, JNCIS-M or JNCIA-EX".

Any Associate or Specialist level exam is a valid pre-req for the JNCIS-SEC.

Cheers,

Kieran
