Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

Dear Waqasdaar,

While this forum is appropriate for asking what materials are recommended for exam prep, it is not appropriate for asking to share those materials.  That is a process we discourage as often sharing materials can represent violation of copy right laws.

Are you looking for information on titles etc.?

Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

Hi,

There are two courses recommended for the JNCIS-SP:
    * Junos Service Provider Switching (JSPX)
    * Junos Intermediate Routing (JIR)

There are also some topics (MPLS and MPLS VPNs) not covered in either JSPX or JIR.  The current study resources for these topics are our technical publications, specifically ‘MPLS Applications’ and ‘VPNs’.  They can be found here (http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/junos/index.html  .. select Routing and Interfaces Guides).

More details on the JNCIP-SP can be found here - http://www.juniper.net/us/en/training/certification/service_provider_track.html#jncissp.

Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

Waqasdaar, I am working through this cert as well and the way I am doing is going through all topics recommended for the SP track in the software documentation.

You will find all topics covered and with examples in the software docs.

Good Luck

Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

Hi,

I have passed JNCIA-M and JNCIS-SEC certification. Do I still need to take JNCIA-Junos before taking JNCIS-SP?

Hi Nto,

You are all set - the JNCIA-M is a valid pre-req for JNCIS-SP.

Nto- no you do not.  Please see the discussion here http://ow.ly/2tBUg in this forum on how the JNCIA-M meets the Associate level requirement for JNCIS-SP

Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

I would be interested in some self studdy material as I need to recert before April 2011 but will not be able to do so before the change.

As such I dont intend to attend any training but like to study on my own like I have done for the other exams.

Would you be able to advise for any books for the new certs?

Cheers

Hi Peter,

You can purchase the student guides for the two supporting courses (Junos Service Provider Switching and Junos Intermediate Routing) here - http://www.onfulfillment.com/junipertrainingpublic/.

You can also always study for any cert exam using Juniper's technical publications, located here - http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/junos/index.html .

Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

Hi Liz

Do we need to give JNCIA - Junos before attempting recertification of JN0-304 after  31st Dec, 2010 ( as we have to go for  jn0-360 instead of jn0-304) ?

Re: study material of JNCIS-SP (service provider)

Please see discussion at http://ow.ly/2xcpA relating to what exams meet the prereq requirements for new exams.  As mentioned in this post:

If you have ANY of the following certifications you have met the prereq to gain a JNCIS certification in ENT, SP and/or SEC:

  • JNCIA-M
  • JNCIS-M
  • JNCIA-ER
  • JNCIS-ER
  • JNICA-EX

So if you are pursuing the JNCIS-SP certification by taking the JN0-360 AND you have one of the above certifications already you do not have to achieve JNCIA-Junos.  If you DO NOT have one of these certifications you will need to achieve JNCIA-Junos by taking the JN0-100 exam.

Hope that helps

Liz

Thanks for this,

I was more after something of the likes of the sybex books made for the JNCIx-M/T certifications.
