Yes, the WLC is required. As an alternative, you can use the AX series and manage using a SRX.

Michael - Juniper AP's are the Trapeze line managed via the Trapeze controllers or the AX411 managed by the SRX. That is all Juniper sells.

I realise that this thread is rather old. But has anything changed that makes the SRX210 able to control the WLA522 access point? Or is there any other way of doing it without an WCL?
