Juniper WLC with Nortel APs?

We have an existing Nortel Wireless LAN 2300 system with the WLAN Management Software, two Wireless Security Switch 2380s and around 100 APs (2330, 2330A, 2332A-E1, and 2332-E1).  If we were to replace the Nortel WMS and WSSes with Juniper-branded RingMaster software and WLC controllers, would we be able to use our existing Nortel-branded APs with them, alongside new Juniper-branded APs?

I see (some of) the Nortel model numbers mentioned in the documentation for the "set ap" command, which gives me some hope that it could be possible.

Syntax set ap apnum serial-id serial-ID
model {2330 | 2330B | 2330B | 2332-A1 |AP-EASYA | AP1602 | AP1602C | AP2750 |
AP3750 | AP3850 | AP3950 | AP9551 | MP-371 | MP-371B | MP-372 | MP-372-JP|
MP-372A | MP-372B | MP-422 | MP-422A | MP-422B | MP-422FB | MP-422F | MP-432 |
MP-432F | MP-522 | MP-522E | MP-620 | MP-620A | MP-620B | MP-622 | MP-632 |
MP-632F | MP-71 | MP-82} [radiotype {11a | 11b| 11g | 11na | 11ng}]

Has anyone tried that?  Is it a supported configuration?

Essentially "most" of the AP's will work as they were just badged Nortel at the time.

The thing you need to check is the version of Juniper code your going to run and whether the older AP's are supported or even already EOL.

We buy Nortel AP's as they are cheap !!!

Good point.  Is there a definitive list of which AP models are supported by a given version of the software?  I've skimmed the documents at http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/release-independent/wireless/information-products/pathway-page... but not found such a list -- can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: Juniper WLC with Nortel APs?

I haven't seen any list, but I think one way to tell is to try to configure an ap, and see what it allows for model. This is from 7.7.1.5:

*WLC1# set ap 43 serial-id 123456 model ?
<ap_type> Choice of: 2330, 2330A, 2330B, 2332-A1, AP-EASYA, AP1602, AP1602C, AP2750, AP3750, AP3850, AP3950, AP9551, MP-371, MP-371B, MP-372, MP-372A, MP-372B, MP-422, MP-422A, MP-422B, MP-422F, MP-422FB, MP-432, MP-432F, MP-522, MP-522E, MP-620, MP-620A, MP-620B, MP-622, MP-632, MP-632F, MP-71, MP-82, WLA321-US, WLA322-US, WLA522-US, WLA522E-US, WLA532-US, WLA532E-US, WLA632-US
